Set to be the only studio receiving house in the West End, this 100-seat venue will present a year-round programme of world-class quality theatre consisting of contemporary text-based plays and musicals, as well as an Associated Programme of events which respond directly to the themes of each production.
After a successful creative pitch, N9 were asked tasked with the transition of the venue following an extensive overhaul of its programming structure and business model. Known for the previous forty years as The Actors Centre, N9 assisted with the renaming and working with the management team produced a full rebranding and identity that took inspiration from the venue’s location. A vibrant and historic block that sits between Covent Garden and Soho.
All design, website development and animation were produced in-house at n9 and we look forward to developing the brand with Amanda and the team.
Opening the venue in February 2022 was the European Premiere of Steve (see below). Presented by Seven Dials Playhouse and M. Green Productions, the long-awaited New York Times’ Critic’s Pick offered audiences the option to book on-stage cabaret tables and indulge in themed cocktails throughout, in order to experience the production in a more intimate way.
N9 also produced the production's marketing material. An illustrated title treatment reflecting the Broadway of our characters youth.
In April 2025 the venue embarked on an ambitious new chapter, strengthening its commitment to artistic development with a bold, curated programming model and expanded support for theatre makers and performers. The organisation is redefining its role as a dynamic hub for creative collaboration, artist training, and innovative live performance in the heart of the West End.
At the heart of this new direction are pioneering artist development initiatives, designed to provide crucial resources and opportunities not only for emerging theatre makers, but also for those at any age or stage who continue to build sustainable creative careers, recognising that talent and the need for support do not disappear with age or experience.
